This project challenged me to combine two unrelated visual signifiers in a way that creates a clear, unexpected connection, one that tells a broader story about a cause. I chose to pair a piano keyboard and a knit hat, using the shared visual rhythm of their forms to symbolize the role of music in childhood development, imagination, and emotional well-being.
Together, the series maintains the recognizability of both the hat and keyboard, but invites viewers to see them in a new light. This juxtaposition aims to underscore the transformative power of music, how it can nurture imagination, comfort, and a sense of identity in young people.
